Giovanni Maria Malerba Di Busca

Born in Milan in 1959 to an Italian father and a Swiss mother, Giovanni Maria Malerba di Busca developed an early and profound attraction to the arts. Encouraged from a young age by respected critics such as Oreste Marini and Gustavo Predaval, he initially devoted himself to painting before expanding his interests toward sculpture.

While still a student at art school, he spent a formative period in Paris working in the studio of internationally renowned French-Italian sculptor Émile Gilioli, an experience that deeply influenced his artistic sensibility. After completing his artistic high school education, he pursued architectural studies at IUAV University in Venice, later earning a doctorate in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano.

Malerba di Busca has worked internationally as an architect and multifaceted designer, collaborating with prestigious clients across a wide range of disciplines, from jewelry design to interior architecture. His creative approach is consistently rooted in the uniqueness and intrinsic value of materials, combined with a refined mastery of specialized artisanal techniques. This material-driven philosophy results in works characterized by elegance, precision, and a sculptural quality. Today, sculpture stands at the core of his artistic research, synthesizing his architectural rigor and expressive sensitivity.
