Born in Milan on August 22, 1960, after his high school studies at Leonardo da Vinci, he moved to Paris for a year until 1979, where he attended the graphic design school “Atelier Albers.” Enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture, at the Milan Polytechnic, he graduated with Prof. Franca Helg with a thesis on architectural design. After graduation, he moved to London for two years, from 1984 to 1986, where he designed and made radio and television objects with Laura Agnolotto. Back in Milan, in 1987, he inaugurated, in the heart of the city, at Via Amedei 3, the studio-laboratory, also conceived as an exhibition space, with his friend and colleague Laura Agnoletto. Together, they participate in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, creating several “unique pieces” straddling art and design.
In parallel, they design lamps and furnishing accessories for several companies such as: Memphis, Nemo, Mastrangelo, FontanaArte, Pallucco, Zeus, Status, Slide, Glas, Swatch, Martini, Kundalini; for this last company, Marzio Rusconi Clerici, designs the lamp “Shakti” selected for the compasso d’oro. Designer and architect designs and sets up, office interiors, residences and hotels, including Clear Channel Italia, the communication company Doing in Milan and the Hotel Le Terrazze in Ispra.
In 1989 he made a seat and a television set to wear for the set design of the RAI program “Discovering the Ark.” In the early 1990s he designed several window displays, including Fiorucci Milano.
Since the early 2000s he has collaborated on several occasions with Turner&Townsend Project Management Italia. Noteworthy are the competitions for the design of the lamps for the bicycle path in San Remo and the seaside promenade in Varazze (Liguria), the one for the new Palazzo del Cinema in Venice alongside the Boeri studio (Venice) and the “modam,” Museum and School of Fashion in Milan, in collaboration with Atelier Mendini of Milan. In 2008, he designed a new building for research laboratories at the Policlinico di Milano, in collaboration with architect Alessandro Traldi, currently under construction in Milan. Since 1985, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Since 2008, he has collaborated with the historic Milanese store, Tessuti Mimma Gini, in the creation of seating and lighting points.
