Born in 1987, Alexey Danilin graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and began his career in 2010 as an interior designer alongside French decorator Vannina Boudet. He later expanded his practice into event design and decoration, with his New Year’s jewelry featured in the book Holiday Design – The Festive & Joyful by SendPoints. Exploring modern art, he exhibited at the Youth Biennale of Modern Art with the installation Futuristic Cross, which was later displayed in the Evangelical Lutheran Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. He also designed the Shell sofa-transformers, a project that earned him his first Red Dot Award.
Danilin went on to develop his own lighting designs, exhibited during Design Week and featured in leading international publications such as Interni, ELLE Decoration, Yanko Design, Designboom, Core77, and on the cover of Light Design PRO. Since 2014, he has collaborated with Maytoni, creating the design for several hundred lighting pieces. His works have been presented at prestigious exhibitions including Salone del Mobile.Milano (iSaloni), Light + Building in Frankfurt, and Maison & Objet in Paris, as well as in Hong Kong, Poland, Russia, and other countries.
To date, Alexey Danilin has received more than 60 international design awards in the field of product and object design.
