Benedetto Fasciana is an Italian architect and designer based in Milan, whose work brings together artisanal craftsmanship, thoughtful proportions, and a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean culture. With an approach rooted in the relationship between tradition and innovation, he develops furniture, lighting, and decorative objects that reflect a deep appreciation for materials, simplicity, and enduring design.
A graduate of the Sicilian Institute of Art in Ragusa and the University of Ferrara’s School of Architecture, Fasciana developed a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by both artistic and architectural studies. His early experience in ceramic art, combined with his work creating retail environments and exhibition spaces for internationally recognized brands, helped establish his sensitivity to form, composition, and material expression. During this period, he also served as Art Director at White Design in Venice, further expanding his experience across different creative disciplines.
In 2014, Fasciana joined Matteo Thun & Partners, where he became Associate Director and began contributing to the development of furniture and lighting collections for internationally recognized brands. His work reflects the studio’s shared design philosophy, emphasizing simplicity, functionality, and timelessness while maintaining a distinctive attention to craftsmanship and proportion.
A defining element of his creative language is the dialogue between contemporary design and traditional artisanal techniques. His appreciation for ceramic art and handcrafted processes informs an approach that values the character of materials and the precision of every detail. Alongside his work in furniture and product design, Fasciana also develops limited-edition ceramic artworks under his own name, exploring the richness of Mediterranean heritage through expressive forms and carefully balanced compositions.
His design philosophy is particularly attentive to the relationship between objects and their surroundings. Rather than relying on excessive ornamentation, he seeks clarity, harmony, and functionality, allowing proportions, textures, and materials to define each piece. This sensitivity results in designs that feel both contemporary and familiar, combining practical purpose with a strong sense of identity.
Through his independent practice and collaborations with established international brands, Benedetto Fasciana continues to explore the possibilities of contemporary design while preserving the values of craftsmanship, cultural heritage, and material authenticity. His work represents a thoughtful balance between architectural discipline and artistic expression, creating objects that connect everyday functionality with lasting aesthetic appeal.
