Carlo Cumini was born in Gemona del Friuli in 1953, where he still works professionally. In 1974 he completed his technical studies at the Marinoni Institute in Udine and began working in the family business as a designer and salesperson for home furnishings. From 1979 to 1984 he designed individual pieces of furniture that became serial for the Cumini company starting in 1985 and for Horm since its foundation in 1989. In 1993 he began to approach outdoor furnishings and participated in the creation of some products of the “giardino di pietra” for “Il Laboratorio del Marmo”. In 1995 he presented Emporio Casa Cumini in Udine and in the same year he began collaborating with Alberto Freschi, an entrepreneur from Conegliano and Bancolini Carlo who lives and works in Marrakech where he explores the local craftsmanship.
