Dario Curatolo

Dario Curatolo graduated in architecture from La Sapienza, Rome, and attended the specialization programme in Architecture Theories. He deals with architecture, design and visual communication and is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Triennale Design Museum (Triennale di Milano) and of the ADI national board. Councilor for the Lazio region in AIAP and design delegate at Inarch. He teaches publishing graphics at the IaD school of the Tor Vergata University.

Since 2000 he has been art director of the Register of Architects and of the House of Architecture of Rome. Over these years, he has worked on various projects to give back identity to places, companies and create new objects. In 2018 he was appointed Italian Design Ambassador within the Italian Design Day project of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He was curator and designer of the Italian Pavilion at the Hong Kong Design Week 2017 with ICE and BODW. He has been creating brands and visual identity of companies and institutions for years.

In 2017, for Istituto Luce – Cinecittà, he designed the visual identity of MIAC (Museo Italiano Audiovisivo e Cinema – Italian Museum of Audiovisual Arts and Cinema), of ISPI, and won the international competition for the rebranding of the Università della Campania L. Vanvitelli. He designed installation ‘Landstories, il paesaggio italiano come progetto – Italian Landscape as a Project’ at the Italian Pavilion, of which he was the artistic director, at the 13th Architecture Biennale di Venezia in 2012. He participated in the 67th and 68th Venice International Film Festivals (in 2010 and 2011), with the photography and art direction of two documentaries: Ward 54 and Out of Tehran. From 2012 to 2015 he was art director of ‘Fineterra’, Multidisciplinary Festival on the Culture of Mediterranean Countries.
