Marco Pocci and Claudio Dondoli met in Florence during their university studies at the School of Architecture. In 1983, they founded Archirivolto Design in Colle di Val d’Elsa in the province of Siena. The studio was initially set up as a small business in architecture, interior design and furniture sales before moving on to industrial design.
For Archirivolto Design, every project must combine harmony and freedom, breaking free from rigid pre-established rules and the assumption that design is a privilege for the few. For Pocci and Dondoli, the designer’s role is to create inclusive and accessible products marketable on a large scale. Guided by a clear business-oriented vision, the office specialices in seating design – from chairs to sofas, stools, and office and outdoor armchairs – and uses technologies and materials, particularly plastic and aluminium, that allow them to achieve optimal aesthetic, functional and economic results. Pocci and Dondoli follow the entire product development process, from market research to the generation of creative ideas to the realization of prototypes, technical support for the industrialization of the project, and even accompanying and supporting customers.
