Belgian-based designers Vanessa Yuan and Joris Vanbriel are the founders and creative force behind ecoBirdy. With backgrounds spanning product design, interior design, fashion, and 3D visualization, they developed a multidisciplinary approach that combines innovation, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility. After beginning their careers in Milan and later establishing their own design studio in Antwerp, they focused their work on creating meaningful solutions to contemporary environmental challenges through design.
Their philosophy is rooted in the belief that design should be both beautiful and responsible. Through years of research into recycling technologies and circular production systems, they have pioneered new ways of transforming waste into high-quality furniture and objects. Their work demonstrates how sustainability can be integrated into every stage of the design process without compromising creativity, functionality, or visual appeal.
Recognized internationally for their innovative vision, Yuan and Vanbriel have received numerous design awards and have established themselves as leading voices in sustainable design. Their projects are characterized by soft organic forms, ergonomic comfort, and a commitment to circular economy principles, reflecting a design practice that seeks to create long-lasting products with a positive environmental impact.
For the Reborn Collection created with SLIDE, the designers applied their expertise in circular design to transform production waste into contemporary furniture, reinforcing their mission of redefining waste as a valuable resource and proving that sustainability can be a powerful driver of innovation and beauty.
