Gral Design was founded in 2012 by architect Andrea Liguori and designer Gianpaolo Rampolla, who share a common passion for designing lighting and interior design objects.
Andrea Liguori
He began taking part in international design and architecture competitions even before graduating with honours in architecture. He has tutored students at the University of Palermo in Industrial Design courses with architect Santo Giunta and Interior Design and Architecture courses with architect Maria Giuseppina Grasso Cannizzo. He works in the field of interior architecture, with designs for private homes, shops, lounge bars and restaurants among others. Together with Gianpaolo Rampolla (GRAL Design), he designs furniture and custom objects, collaborating with several companies. Since 2013 he has been living and working in Berlin.
Gianpaolo Rampolla
After graduating in Economics, he decided to pursue design and the lighting sector in particular. He specialised between the Targetti Foundation in Florence and Milan, where he also obtained a Master’s degree at the Politecnico. In parallel with his work as a lighting designer, with a design studio and dedicated showroom in his hometown of Palermo, he also founded Gral Design together with Andrea Liguori and began designing and producing luminaires and interior design elements for various international brands such as Masiero. In particular, they designed the Urano collection and the now famous Libe family of lamps.
