Born 1957, Hans Thyge Raunkjær trained industrial designer from the Copenhagen School of Architecture. Through several decades Hans’ immense body of work has made him one of the most productive and successful Danish furniture designers. And he has trained with the best.
From 1983-1990 he lived in Milan collaborating with some of the premier Italian designers. Today he is perhaps the one Danish designer that works most intensely with the chair as a design object. He has more than 50 chairs to his name of which many are exhibited internationally. His work shows an unbending focus on materials and techniques and a penchant for sensual, textural and spatial design.
