Julie Richoz

Julie Richoz (born 1990) is a Swiss-French designer. After graduating from ECAL – University of Art and Design in Lausanne, she worked as a project assistant for Pierre Charpin. She then opened her own studio in Paris, where she developed her personal language through objects. Julie works between unique pieces and industrial production, exploring what connects these two worlds. In both, she is fascinated by the savoir-faire, passion, and precision in the handling of materials.
Her practice spans various disciplines, from furniture to lighting, from textiles to objects, collaborating with companies such as Alessi, Vitra, Tectona, Hay, La Manufacture de Cogolin, and Galerie Kreo. She has been a designer-in-residence at CIRVA – Research Centre for Art and Glass in Marseille, at Sèvres – Cité de la Céramique, and at Casa Wabi in Mexico.
Her accolades include the Grand Prix at Design Parade (2012), the Swiss Design Awards (2015, 2019), and the Leenaards Grant (2016). She was also a finalist for the Hublot Design Prize (2016). Since 2017, she has been teaching industrial design at ECAL – University of Art and Design in Lausanne.
