Klaus Nolting was born in Zurich/CH in 29.09.1964. He is a german citizen. Between 1986 and 1992 he studied industrial design in Kiel, graduate designer. He is in professional design business since 1992. Between 1992 and 1995 he was freelancer at the Architects von Gerkan, Marg & Partner, Hamburg. He did a summer term in 2009 as Professorship for Design Theory, Product Technology and Design, FH Mainz, Department of Design. Since 2018 – today works also as a Lecturer at the AMD, Academy of Fashion & Design in Hamburg. Since 2010 he is Member of the Hamburg Chamber of Architects as a freelance interior designer.
His office ON3D together with Sarah Buchholz is located in the heart of Hamburg. They plan and design expedient products for modern human life. They develop concepts, design with pure and soft lines. To establish the basis for a unique product they are using individual materials. Inventive constructions often bring amazingly easy solutions. Works as an industrial designer for companies such as: Anta Leuchten, Schenefeld, Classicon, München, Deutsche Bahn AG, Frankfurt, FSB, Brakel, Hülsta, Stadtlohn, Infiniti, Castello di Godego, IP 44, Rheda-Wiedenbrück, KFF, Lemgo, Lapalma, Cadoneghe, Möller Design, Lemgo, Molto Luce, Wels, more Möbel, Hamburg, RZB, Bamberg, Schönbuch, Seon, Siteco, Traunreut, Sedus, Waldshut, Solpuri, München, Venjakob, Gütersloh, Zumtobel, Dornbirn.
Works as an interior designer for companies such as: Airport Hamburg, Asia Gourmet, Berlin, Asia Hung, Hamburg, Autogrill Deutschland, Frankfurt, ciao bella, München. For 30 years, his designs have almost regularly been honoured with prestigious design awards such as the if award, red dot, iconic design award or german design award.
