Italian by birth, architects by training, and travelers by vocation, Virginia Valentini and Francesco Breganze de Capnist are both designers and dreamers. Beyond being a professional duo, they are partners in life, sharing a strong creative affinity as husband and wife.
In 2016, they opened their first studio in New York, where they developed several interior architecture projects. This international experience encouraged them to explore a more unconventional design approach, while their deep connection to Italian roots, craftsmanship, and artistic heritage remained a constant influence.
They later returned to Italy to found LATOxLATO, a design workshop that operates across scales—from architecture to refined product design—with the same level of dedication. The studio focuses on creating contemporary projects through a modern approach, fostering a continuous dialogue between art and architecture.
Their work is driven by ongoing research and experimentation, combined with a desire to move beyond conventional solutions. As a result, each LATOxLATO piece is designed to provoke a reaction—whether intrigue or immediate fascination—but never indifference.
