Lutz Pankow (born 1968 in Lisbon, raised in South America) is a product designer and academic based in Hamburg. He studied engineering and product design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Saarbruecken/Germany, he completed the Design degree in 1995. Since 1996 he works as designer, offering industrial, interior and exhibition design services and won several international Designawards. In the same year he began teaching product design students at HBK Saar. He now leads a design studio focused on lighting. Pankow blends technical precision with aesthetic clarity—his practice is rooted in disciplined design research and creative leadership in academia.
