Martino Gamper

Martino Gamper, Officer of the Order of the British Empire, was born in Merano (Italy) in 1971. After an apprenticeship with a local furniture maker, he studied sculpture under Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 2000, he completed a Master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in London, where he studied with Ron Arad. He now lives and works in London.

His work moves fluidly between design and art, ranging from exhibition installations to interior design, as well as unique pieces and industrial products for the international furniture avant-garde. His projects have been showcased worldwide, and he has collaborated with companies and institutions such as Moroso, Kvadrat, Nilufar Gallery, Serpentine Gallery, and The Aram Gallery.

At Bolzan, Martino immediately felt at home on the production floor. From the very first encounter, he immersed himself in the manufacturing process, establishing a constructive and collaborative dialogue with both technicians and the company’s leadership throughout the stages of ideation, prototyping, and development.
