Since he was a child Matteo was introduced to the world of art and culture, for which he developed a keen interest and affinity, and when the time came he decided to study Architecture at his hometown Università degli Studi di Firenze. During the university years, that he spent also working in his father’s design studio, and doing other formative experiences such as internships and a semester abroad at École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-Belleville, he focuses his research in the relationship between man and his habitat, both the social one of the city and the architectures, and the domestic one of the home and the objects.
Since obtaining his Master’s Degree in 2017 he has been part of Carlo Bimbi Design studio and he also worked as a freelance architect and designer. In 2020 he founded his own studio, focusing on furniture and interior design. He draws inspiration both from the complex and stimulating contemporary world, and from the examples of the past, with a design philosophy that keeps together on one side the aesthetical and functional aspect, and on the other side the building of narratives to connect with people.
