Michael Schmidt is an industrial designer. He commenced his professional career both at Mercedes Benz in the department of advanced design and conception, and at DesignWorX, where he redesigned the AUDI logo in 1994. In 1996 he set up his own design studio in Stuttgart. 2011 he was awarded with the Aqua Cultura Award for his merits around the bath culture.

The design studio code2design with his founder Michael Schmidt are a byword for innovative design and product concepts. Design made by code2design gives brands and products personality. It inspires people and it tells a story, a story that serves the functional aspects and answers emotional needs and wishes.

Today, code2design is an interdisciplinary team of professional designers and experts from various fields, specialized in product innovation and industrial design. The core studio team consists of 4-6 senior and junior designers.
