Michel Boucquillon was born in Belgium in 1962 and graduated in Architecture in Brussels in 1988. That same year, he won the Van Hove Architecture Prize and worked in Florence for two years. At 26, he won the architecture competition for the European Parliament’s hemicycle in Brussels, for which he also designed the furniture.
His career in the design world began: VALLI & VALLI asked him to produce a handle, TECHNOLUX wanted him to design lamps, and TECNO asked Michel to design the furniture for the hemicycle. In 2005, he won the Design Plus prize. He now has an architecture studio in Brussels and a product design studio in Lucca. He works for some of the most prestigious companies, including SERRALUNGA, ARTEMIDE, VALLI & VALLI, VCR, AQUAMASS, and TECNO, among others. Michel Boucquillon has designed a series of outdoor furniture products for Serralunga: garden loungers, designer lamps, outdoor vases, outdoor chairs, and outdoor tables.
