Sebastian Herkner

Born in 1981, Sebastian Herkner studied product design at Offenbach University of Art and Design, specializing in objects and furnishings in which different cultural contexts are merged and cutting-edge technology is blended with craftsmanship, to underline the multiform aesthetic appeal of reinvented materials and shapes.

While he was still a student, Herkner worked with the fashion designer Stella McCartney in London. It was an experience that helped to hone his sensitivity for materials, colours, structures and textures. Since he founded his own firm in Offenbach am Main in 2006, he has designed for companies such as ClassiCon, Very Wood by Gervasoni, Moroso, Sancal, La Chance and Rosenthal, while also working on interior design schemes and projects for exhibitions and museums.

In addition, he lectures at Offenbach University of Art and Design and he has won many accolades, including the Newcomer award at the 2011 German Design Awards.
