Born in 1946 in Desio, near Milan, Vittorio Prato graduated from the Art Institute of Cantù and began his career as an industrial and product designer in 1965. Over the years, he has served as design director for leading brands and collaborated with top Italian designers.

Since establishing his independent design and consultancy practice in 1976, he has developed a wide range of innovative products across multiple sectors. His notable work includes specialized mechanical workshop accessories, ergonomic dental surgery seating, and pioneering the first office chair base crafted from microfiber-reinforced thermoplastic.

Prato received a prestigious commendation at the 13th Compasso d’Oro awards in 1984. Today, he continues to lend his expertise as a designer and consultant to prominent international brands and architectural studios.
