Description
Anamon is not just another parasol – it redefines what an outdoor umbrella can be.
The Anamon is a visionary outdoor solution that redefines the concept of shade through “organic engineering.” Designed by Kris Van Puyvelde, this parasol mimics the graceful unfurling of a blooming flower, opening from the top down to reveal its canopy without disturbing nearby furniture. When closed, its minimalist vertical column hides all mechanics, doubling as a sleek, sculptural element for any high-end terrace or poolside.
Engineered for both day and night, the Anamon provides cooling shade under the sun and transforms into a sculptural light source after dark. Its integrated warm white LED lighting is battery-powered, ensuring a clean look free of cables. With a focus on longevity, the design includes a protective top cap and a discreet internal drainage system to safeguard the mechanism from the elements.
At the turn of a handle, the parasol seamlessly unfolds with a theatrical reveal, while the inner workings remain discreetly hidden. Call it organic engineering, inspired by the fluid, natural motion of tube-dwelling anemones.
Once the sun sets, Anamon continues to shine. With the canopy tucked away, it transforms into a sculptural light source.
When Anamon is not in use, the top cap clicks effortlessly into place, providing a sleek, polished finish and protecting the mechanism from rain, dust and debris – an especially useful feature in wet climates or during winter. Any water that does find its way inside is directed out through a discreet drainage system at the base – no build-up or mess.
