FOS Ceramiche
Their story begins in Faenza for a reason. Since ancient times, the city has cultivated a deep sensitivity and appreciation for ceramic art, becoming synonymous with majolica (or faience, meaning glazed earthenware). It has long been a crossroads of knowledge and an epicenter for pottery, supported by its prestigious school of ceramics and the world’s largest international museum dedicated to this craft. It was in this environment that Piero Mazzotti and Andri Ioannou met and, over 30 years ago, founded their ceramics studio-one that was proudly “Made in Faenza” even before it was “Made in Italy.”
FOS (an acronym for Form, Object, Surface) is well known in the ceramic world for its porcelain craftsmanship. After early experimentation with stoneware, glass, and bronze, the founders fell in love with the purity of biscuit porcelain, whose unglazed surface brings out the most delicate textures. Their work unites the ancient, instinctive art of the hand with refined technique and years of experience. From the beginning, the studio has never stopped innovating, continuously creating unique and original collections.
Every FOS piece is 100% made in Italy, from concept to final creation in their Faenza studio. Each object is crafted with the time and dedication necessary to perfect every detail, ensuring uncompromising quality. Rather than following the mechanical rhythm of industrial production, their work reflects the ancestral, passionate pace of the human hand. Flexibility and commitment allow FOS to meet even the most specific client requests—opportunities that inspire new experimentation and creative challenges.
