Alice was conceived as a piece that quietly does more than it lets on. At rest, it reads as an elegant writing desk, its legs wrapped in leather and traced by hand stitching that runs the full length of their profile — a detail that speaks to slow, deliberate craftsmanship. The silhouette curves gently throughout, echoing the antique travel desks once carried aboard ocean liners by those journeying across continents. Beneath its refined surface, a plywood structure keeps the piece light on its feet without asking to be noticed.
Designed by architect Celeste Dell’Anna as part of the Courmayeur Collection, Alice reinterprets that nomadic heritage through a contemporary lens. Lift the writing surface, and the flap opens to reveal a backlit mirror — its LED lighting wired for the US market — transforming the desk into an intimate space for personal ritual. Leather wraps every surface, chosen for its density and warmth and for how naturally it follows the piece’s rounded lines. Two side drawers complete the design, each opening via a leather pull finished with a metal handle stopper in silvered brass, reminiscent of vintage travel trunks.

Product Care: To preserve the beauty of the leather finish, clean leather surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth using mild soap and water only. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish. Dry gently after cleaning. Natural tone variations and markings are inherent to the material and will develop into a unique patina over time.
For those who wish to complete their desk with a refined finishing touch, a hand-stitched leather-wrapped magnifying glass can be added as an optional accessory, available for an additional cost.
