Description
Rap Sofa – With Lighting combines the enveloping silhouette of the Rap Collection with the expressive impact of integrated illumination. Its generous two seater design features a continuous backrest that curves around the sides, creating a welcoming sense of comfort while maintaining a distinctive sculptural profile. When illuminated, the sofa takes on a new visual dimension, transforming its fluid contours into a striking focal point.
Designed by Karim Rashid, Rap Sofa is defined by the interplay between clean lines and soft, continuous curves. Its low profile and embracing form balance contemporary minimalism with a relaxed character, while the illuminated version introduces an atmospheric element that enhances the sofa’s presence after dark.
Crafted from polyethylene, Rap Sofa – With Lighting is suitable for indoor use and brings together functional seating and decorative lighting in a single design. Its luminous presence makes it particularly suited to living areas, lounges, hospitality interiors, and event spaces where furniture can contribute to both the atmosphere and the overall visual identity. The integrated lighting creates a soft, diffused effect through the body of the sofa, allowing it to stand out without compromising its distinctive form.
Rap Sofa – With Lighting pairs naturally with Rap Lounge Chair – With Lighting, creating a coordinated setting that combines sculptural seating with ambient illumination. Whether used as a statement piece or incorporated into a larger lounge arrangement, it brings a contemporary and atmospheric character to social spaces.
With its distinctive curves and luminous presence, Rap Sofa – With Lighting reimagines contemporary seating as both a place to relax and a source of ambient light, bringing together comfort, expressive design, and visual impact.
