Description
Spider was designed by Joe Colombo in 1965 and has since become an iconic piece of designer lighting. This lamp is composed of a single luminaire in fire-painted metal, created expressly for a special horizontal spotlight bulb, mounted on a chromed vertical rod and supported by a painted metal base. A refined melamine joint allows the inclination and repositioning of the reflector, ensuring both versatility and functional beauty. The Spider family includes table and floor versions, offered in a variety of colors to complement different interiors.
In 1967, Spider was awarded the first Golden Compass Award for Oluce, affirming its place as a timeless masterpiece in the history of design. In 1972, it was exhibited in New York at the groundbreaking show Italy: The New Domestic Landscape at MoMA. Today, Spider belongs to the permanent collections of the Triennale International Exhibition in Milan, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Kunstmuseum in Düsseldorf, and the Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich.
With its sleek silhouette, innovative design, and luxury lighting aesthetics, Spider remains a prestigious and exclusive designer light fixture that continues to captivate admirers worldwide.
Made in Italy.
