The Tailor chair is an elegant expression of artisanal mastery, entirely covered in hard leather that envelops the legs, seat, and ergonomic backrest. Beneath this refined exterior lies a discreet metal core, carefully concealed by meticulous cuts, precise folds, and scrupulous stitching that define the chair’s tailored character. Every detail reflects a high level of craftsmanship, where leather is shaped and finished with the same care as a bespoke garment.
Suitable for both classic and contemporary interiors, Tailor goes beyond traditional upholstery, embracing an approach that is closer to true tailoring. The backrest, in particular, requires a complex sequence of handcrafted operations: curves and counter-curves are shaped with precision to create subtle shadow effects envisioned during the design phase. Achieving this refined interplay of light and form demands exceptional skill, underscoring the expertise of the artisan responsible for “dressing” the chair.
The chair’s original armrests are designed to be naturally supportive while remaining visually light and unobtrusive. The metal frame is bent by hand to achieve the exact curvature of the legs where they meet the seat, ensuring structural coherence and visual continuity. Hand stitching completes the design, reinforcing the distinctive effect of the legs appearing to emerge seamlessly from the seat.
