Description
Inspired by river stones smoothed over millennia by flowing water, the Stone Ottoman brings an organic, sculptural shape to indoor and outdoor living. Each piece is braided entirely by hand with recyclable Olyna® rope and filled with polystyrene microspheres and memory foam, for a soft, supportive seat that stays light and easy to move. Inside, a water-repellent lining protects the filling, and a 3D mesh base finishes the underside.
The ottoman comes in different sizes: the taller version is a functional occasional seat beside the dining table or a surface for a tray, a book or a phone, while the lower, wider version invites you to sit back and relax. Its balanced proportions suit generous open spaces as well as cozier corners, and a wide choice of braid colors lets it blend in or stand out. The Olyna® yarn is hypoallergenic, easy to clean and resistant to mold and bacteria. Made in Italy.
Please note: colors and shades shown in photos and swatches are indicative and may look slightly different in real life.
Care and Maintenance
- Routine care: vacuum frequently or brush lightly to remove dust. Most dirt and stains can be removed if treated promptly.
- Sun and weather: NodoItalia ropes are UV resistant, but long exposure to intense sunlight can affect their color and strength over time, so keep the ottoman in the shade when it’s not in use. In wet weather and during the off-season, store it in a dry, ventilated space, and never wrap it in plastic, which traps moisture and can cause mildew.
- Water-based stains: dissolve half a spoonful of standard washing powder in a cup of hot water. Blot the stain with a cloth or sponge dampened with the solution, working inwards from the outside. Do not rub. Rinse the area with clean water and do not use stain removers.
- Oil and grease (butter, oil, lipstick and similar): remove with acetone, then clean with the washing-powder solution and rinse with clean water.
- Chlorine-based cleaners: if used, rinse thoroughly with clean water and do not let the area dry in direct sunlight.
- Sanitizing: the ropes can be sanitized with 70% alcohol or sodium hypochlorite up to 0.5% without affecting their texture or color.
- Avoid stiff or metal brushes and abrasive sponges, which can damage the yarn and cause loss of colored fibers.
