Description
This 1:12 scale model pays tribute to the Porsche 550A Spyder, a car that solidified Porsche’s reputation in motorsport during the 1950s. Introduced in 1956, the 550A featured a lightweight spaceframe chassis and a 1.5-liter flat-four engine producing approximately 135 horsepower, enabling it to compete successfully against larger, more powerful rivals.
This model represents the open-top version, available in two liveries: a classic silver exterior, faithfully reproducing the colors of the car that won the 1956 Targa Florio — Porsche’s first major international triumph — or a striking white exterior with red accents, offering an alternative period-correct look. Both versions are paired with rich burgundy interiors that capture the minimalist and purposeful design of the original.
Considered among the most technically complex models in the Vèlle range given the mechanical intricacy of the subject, each piece comes with a natural marble base — and thanks to the natural veining of the stone, every specimen is unique. Made in Italy.
Product Care: Crafted in metal with a natural marble base, this model calls for gentle care: avoid alcohol or harsh cleaning agents, as they can damage both the marble surface and the model’s paint finish. We recommend cleaning with a soft microfiber cloth and soft-bristle brush. The brushes, upholstered in a variety of leathers, are available as an optional add-on.
