The Ferrari Arno XI occupies a singular place in motorsport history — a hydroplane born from the union of Maranello’s racing pedigree and Italian boatbuilding expertise. Commissioned by engineer and driver Achille Castoldi and built in 1953 by Cantieri Timossi on Lake Como, the Arno XI was fitted with a Ferrari 375 F1 V12, reworked with twin superchargers to unleash over 600 horsepower onto the water.
The result was extraordinary: on October 15, 1953, Castoldi piloted the Arno XI to 150.19 mph on Lake Iseo, setting a world record in the 800 kg class that has never been broken. This 1:12 reproduction pays homage to that feat, its polished mahogany hull and knife-edge silhouette rendered with precision, right down to the race number 50 and Ferrari livery that made the boat instantly recognizable. The powertrain details beneath the deck receive the same level of care as the exterior finish.
Given the original’s elongated proportions, the model merits a display space to suit — a striking centerpiece for anyone drawn to the intersection of speed and craftsmanship. The included base features leather upholstery, available in a variety of leathers. Made in Italy.
Product Care: Crafted in metal with a natural marble base, this model calls for gentle care: avoid alcohol or harsh cleaning agents, as they can damage both the marble surface and the model’s paint finish. We recommend cleaning with a soft microfiber cloth and soft-bristle brush. The brushes, upholstered in a variety of leathers, are available as an optional add-on.
