The Clay Oval Table by Desalto, designed by Marc Krusin, reinterprets the collection’s iconic sculptural design through the fluid proportions of an elliptical tabletop. Two contrasting volumes meet at their vertices, creating a distinctive geometric composition that balances visual strength with a sense of elegance. The oval silhouette introduces a softer visual flow, making this contemporary Italian dining table a striking centerpiece for refined residential and contract interiors.
Available in different sizes and heights depending on the selected tabletop, the Clay Oval Table offers a versatile range of material combinations to complement different interior styles. The rigid polyurethane base preserves the collection’s recognizable sculptural identity, while the choice of tabletop introduces distinct textures and finishes.
The MDF tabletop version is completely covered with a handcrafted surface, created through the manual application of paste or marble powder mixed with resin. For a warmer, more natural appearance, the wooden tabletop is 1 inch thick and pairs with a base available in a lacquered finish or one of three handcrafted treatments: Concrete, Stone, and Marble. Concrete and Stone are obtained through the manual application of paste, while the Marble finish is created by manually applying marble powder mixed with resin.
For a more contemporary material contrast, the ceramic tabletop version features a 1/4-inch-thick surface with a safety mesh underneath. Its rigid polyurethane base is also available lacquered or with the handcrafted Concrete, Stone, and Marble finishes, allowing the table to maintain its sculptural character while offering a different material expression.
The tabletop configuration determines the overall height: 29″1/4 for the MDF version, 29″1/8 for the wooden version, and 29″ for the ceramic version. This variation reflects the distinct construction of each option while preserving the balanced proportions of the design.
