The Oval Clay Table by Desalto, designed by Marc Krusin, brings sculptural elegance to contemporary dining spaces through its distinctive elliptical silhouette and carefully balanced geometry. Two contrasting volumes meet at their opposing vertices, creating a striking composition that combines the visual strength of a sculptural base with the refined proportions of an oval tabletop. The result is a contemporary designer table that makes a statement while maintaining a sense of harmony and lightness.
The table features a rigid polyurethane base, available with a lacquered finish or in handcrafted concrete, stone, and marble-effect finishes. Each handcrafted surface is created through a meticulous manual process. The concrete and stone finishes are achieved by applying a specialized paste by hand, while the marble finishes are produced using marble powder mixed with resin, also applied manually. These techniques give the base distinctive surface textures and material depth, allowing the sculptural form to take on different aesthetic expressions.
The oval tabletop is made of ceramic and features a safety mesh underneath. Its elongated shape offers a generous surface for dining and entertaining, while the ceramic material complements the expressive character of the base. The combination of a refined tabletop and a sculptural support creates a distinctive balance between contemporary design and practical functionality.
